503 AYUDA:

Our first project, 503 Ayuda, had the purpose of raising awareness of El Salvador’s state of increasing poverty and hunger due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the aftermath of storm Amanda through a social media campaign powered by students from 9th to 12th grade.

Our Plan

Project Objectives

  • Host Google Meets teaching students how to make face masks and face shields from home.
  • Members of Operacion Fe will create content to publish on our Instagram student-managed account @operacionfe and share them to their friends and families to raise awareness.
  • Sell $15 t-shirts to buy $10 food baskets for every shirt sold. Food baskets will be donated to families in urgent need of food.
  • All funds will be deposited to Operación Pupusa’s bank account.
  • Members of Operacion Fe will pick their t-shirts on a specific date and location assigned by the staff team
  • For COVID-19 prevention, the company who sells the food baskets will deliver the baskets to the communities we will be helping.

What We Achieved

In two weeks, t-shirts were sold to raise the targeted funds to buy basic baskets of goods for Salvadoran families.

Raised a total of $ 1,575

The funds were used to help buy +100 basic baskets delivered to

communities in Nejapa and Centro de San Salvador.

Over four months, we have raised awareness of increasing poverty and hunger due to the COVID-19 pandemic and biosecurity measures.

We have done numerous posts on Instagram, showing the impact of COVID-19

on low-income communities in El Salvador.

We have created video content to explain the biosecurity measures,

such as wearing a mask properly and making face shields.
